  • The ECTED Max is a selectable traction device; an on/off switch is mounted near the driver. When off–the clutch pack,located behind the side gear provides the limited slip mode. As torque increases, the separating forces within the differential gears increase, causing the clutch pack to be compressed and thereby providing bias torque to the high traction wheel–your performance limited slip differential action. When selected on, current is sent to the electromagnetic coil. The coil is retained by a clip that fits over one of the bearing cap bolts, making it non-rotational. The coil rides on a ball bearing. The ball bearings spin with the differential case. The coil creates a magnetic flux so that the pilot cone is pulled into engagement with the differential case. This frictional engagement causes the bearing balls to ride up on a ramp machined into the side gear. This radial travel of the balls also causes lateral movement of the side gear. This applies a force onto the center block. The center block has an elongated hole that the center pin fits through, allowing it to float. The center block applies force to the opposite side gear, compressing the clutch pack giving the user a solid axle assembly–the spool/locker performance you desire at the strip/off-road.   • Cable-Operated 4WD Engagement System
  • Fitment: 1994-2001 Ram 1500 with Dana 44-60. Fitment: 1994-2002 Ram 2500, 3500 with Dana 44-60.
  • 4x4 Posi-Lok replaces stock 4WD actuators, allowing front axle engagement control from inside the cab. After engaging the transfer case, a quick pull of the 4x4 Posi-Lok cable slides the shift fork and collar to connect the right front axle to the intermediate shaft and 4-wheel drive is engaged! Simply reverse the procedure to disengage 4-wheel drive. Works with lockers - when the front axle is locked, simply disengage the passenger side in order to make turns without wheel hop.
  • Features:
    • x4 Posi-Lok is compatible with manual or electric transfer cases and installation can be completed in one to two hours with basic hand tools. No internal differential work is required.
    • 4x4 Posi-Lok provides 2-wheel drive low range, giving the vehicle 4-LO torque at the rear axle with bind free steering only available in 2-HI. This feature is not available with factory systems and is beneficial when maneuvering trailers.
    • 4x4 Posi-Lok reduces front differential wear and right axle breakage.
    • 4x4 Posi-Lok will not disengage when ignition is turned off or the differential is submerged.
